Course Number: #1945

This course is designed to prepare the student for the requirements of research paper writing. This skill is necessary to complete the research paper that is required in all Language Arts classes and many of the other disciplines at Collegiate Academy. It is a vital skill in all college/university course work. Students will be given intensive instruction in all phases of the research process, from selection of a topic to the publication of an actual paper. The course follows the Modern Language Association of America (MLA) format for textual citation. The course also teaches the retrieval of information from traditional sources to the latest electronic resources. A RESEARCH PAPER IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PASS THIS COURSE.

Prerequisites: None. All freshmen must take this course.
