Gannon University will host a Multicultural Overnight Program Mach 21, 22. This event is an opportunity for multicultural students to stay with Gannon students, meet the dynamic faculty and administration and participate in the classroom experience. Penn State BEhrend offers two summer college programs to students who will be seniors next year, the Minority College Experience (MCE) and Women in Science and Engineering (WISE). There is no cost for the courses, if accepted (GPA of 2.75 and SAT of 1350/PSAT of 135). Apply online at behrend.psu.edu/mcewise.

Edinboro University and the American Society for Metals (ASM) are offering a free, two day Materials Science Camp for students of Collegiate Academy who will be juniors or seniors next year. Approximately 25 students will be selected who will be exposed to metals, heat treating and polymers through a series of team oriented projects. Students who enjoy physics, chemistry, and algebra will find this most rewarding. See Mrs. Nichols for an application. Deadline March 26th.

Gannon School of Engineering and Computer Science announces its annual Applied Math Contest for high school sophomores and juniors interested in pursuing a career in engineering. Gannon scholarships will be awarded to the winners. The contest is on Sun. April 18, 2010 at 10 am. Registration form available from Mrs. Nichols in room 119. Edinboro University High School Journalism Day » Monday, March 29, 2010, 8:30 - 2:30. Student workshops offered on topics including broadcast voice/appearance, becoming a multimedia reporter, reporting on diversity issues, interviewing skills. Armed Forces Open House on March 24, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Ambassador Center in Erie. Representatives will be present from Army Senior ROTC, the US Military Academy at West Point, Active Duty Army, US Army Reserves, Army National Guard and the US Navy and Marine Corps. PA Free Enterprise Week: Sophomores and juniors interested in participating in a one week summer session that combines rigorous academic instruction with a hands-on approach to learning about the workplace of the future can apply at www.pfew.org. Every student accepted will be awarded a full scholarship by a local business or community organization that covers meals, room and board, supplies. The only cost to students is $235 registration fee and travel. Early Bird deadline is March 5 and Final Deadline if Apr. 9, 2010.

Gannon Financial Aid Workshops » All students, regardless of the college they plan to attend, are welcome to attend one of these informational workshops held in the Palumbo Academic Center, Room 1200 on the following dates: Wed. Health Career Scholars Academy » This former PA Governor School program at the University of Pittsburgh is for students who are serious about a career in the health care field.
